TIME: Thursday, August 15, 2019, 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
6th Grade Scoop is a special night for 6th graders and their parents only! Parents and students will meet in the Forum Room with Mrs. Wilson from 6:00-7:30 and get the “scoop” on what 6th grade is all about. We will also enjoy some ice cream together. This evening will get you and your 6th grader off to a great start in Upper School!
Our annual Family Back-to-School Night will be tonight at 6:00 PM. Back-to-School Night is intended to allow parents to come to school one time, for one community event, with all of their children. It is an opportunity to worship together and share the vision for the school year. Please remember that no supplies or paperwork should be brought to this event. Here are the details:
All classrooms will be open from 6:00-6:25 for students and parents to come visit and meet teachers. At 6:25 we will all gather in the gym and hear from our Head of School, Mr. Pavey, who will briefly share our mission and focus for the year. We will have a time of worship, meet our faculty and staff, and watch a video full of practical information for the school year.
We are looking forward to having all of our families together to kick off a new school year!
Immediately following our Back-to-School Night on Tuesday, August 21, all high school students are invited to the Backyard Bash. This student-led event will include refreshments, lawn games, worship and loads of fun! (7-8:30 pm)
Curriculum Night is a parents-only event. We want to give parents the opportunity to spend some time with their child’s teachers and learn what to expect for the coming school year. To accommodate parents who have children in multiple grades, the evening has been split into three time slots.
Parents of students in grades K-5 should plan to come from 6:00-6:25 or 6:30-6:55. Go directly to your child’s classroom at the start of one of these times to meet with your child’s teacher and hear about the year ahead. The same material will be covered during both times, so it is only necessary to choose one time per student.
Parents of students in grades 6-12 should plan to come at 7:00. Parents will be given a copy of their child’s schedule and will participate in a “mini version” of their day. With 10-minute periods, the “mini day” will end around 8:30.
Please remember that this event is for parents only. No students or younger siblings should be brought to this event.
